Founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah, has revealed that he is working with the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to roll out regional prayer sessions to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

Ghana’s coronavirus cases have risen to 24 with 17 of the patients contracting the virus in the country.

All public gatherings, including conferences, workshops, funerals, festivals, political rallies, sporting events and religious activities, such as services in churches and mosques, have been suspended for the next four (4) weeks.

As part of the efforts to fight coronavirus, President of the Republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo met with the clergy in a breakfast meeting to pray for the God’s intervention in the conquering of the pandemic.

One of Ghana’s popular pastors, Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah, was however missing from the meeting. Religious critics have argued that he was not invited.

Explaining his absence to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, Founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah, noted that he met with the President thirty minutes before the meeting with the rest of the clergy.

The man of God hinted that he is working with the ruling government to commence a nationwide prayer festival which will be done on a regional basis.

“I met with the President and had a lengthy conversation with him for like thirty minutes before his meeting with the other members of the clergy. We are fortunate to have a President who loves God and it is evident from his projects. I am working on a nationwide prayer festival but it will be done at the regional level. We are optimistic that the fervent prayer of Ghanaians will cause a change in the health sector,” he said.

He added that the issue is a national issue which should not be politicized.
