TYSON FURY BRUTALLY BEATS DEONTAY WILDER TO CLAIM WBC HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE (VIDEO)

Tyson Fury has defeated the former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in a rematch of their previous boxing bout, to claim the title.

Their first bout ended in a controversial split-decision draw.

Fury knocked out Wilder in the 7th round of the bout, after initially dropping him in the 5th round, the time at which Fury was already bleeding in his left ear, though appeared balanced and ready to take on the Wilder with full confidence.

He said:

“I want to shout out Deontay Wilder, he showed the heart of a champion.

“He got up and battled onto round seven. He is a warrior, he will be back and be champion again.

“But the king has returned to the top of the throne.”

In his own reaction, Deontay said:

“The best man won on the night. My coach threw in the towel but I was ready to go out on my shield.

“I had a lot of things go on coming into this fight but it is what it is.

“I just wish my corner would have let me go out on my shield, I’m a warrior.

“But he [Fury] did what he did and there’s no excuses.”

Britain now has two world champions, with Anthony Joshua holding the other major titles in the division.
