I ONLY WANT MY BANK BACK BECAUSE HARD WORK MUST BE REWARDED ’ – CAPITAL BANK CEO

CEO of collapsed Ghanaian bank, Capital Bank, William Ato Esien has indicated that he has sued the Bank of Ghana (BoG) for unlawfully collapsing his bank.

According to him, he did nothing wrong for the central bank to take that harsh decision against him.

Mr Esien in a recent interview told Paul Adom Otchere on the Good Evening Ghana programme on Metro TV on Thursday 26th September 2019 that:

“I have sued the Bank of Ghana. I want my bank because hard work must be rewarded.”

Additionally, he revealed that he never used company funds for his personal gain and also explained that after his bank was collapsed there were reports in a section of the Ghanaian media that he had squandered sums of money provided by the BoG as liquidity support.

Answering these claims he said;

“I never chopped a dime. It’s my own bank so how can I steal from my own bank, is that possible?”
