Chelsea want Bayer Leverkusen forward Leon Bailey to replace Eden Hazard – but will reportedly have to pay €80m for the privilege.

Hazard left west London to join Real Madrid earlier this week leaving the Blues short in attack.

Christian Pulisic has already signed from Borussia Dortmund but according to the Daily Mail the club have already ear-marked Bailey as more of a like-for-like replacement of the Belgian.

Their story indicates that Leverkusen would be willing to sell the Jamaican but would only accept offers of €80m or more.

The elephant in the room here is obviously Chelsea’s transfer ban from Fifa which will see them be unable to bring in any new names for the second two windows.

The Stamford Bridge side have lodged a formal appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and are hoping that their ban will be suspended during the appeal process.
