Black Stars new captain Andre Dede Ayew has said that annexing the Africa Cup of Nations is not easy, adding that it requires good preparation.
Ghana will face defending champions Cameroon, Benin and Guinea-Bissau in Group F of the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
The Swansea City attacker will be hoping to lead the Black Stars to break the 37-year trophy drought in Egypt — Ghana won their 4th AFCON cup in 1982 since then they have made three appearance in the finals of the competition (1992, 2010 and 2015).
Apparently, it is becoming a difficult task for the Black Stars to win their 5th AFCON trophy.
And Ghana’s new captain Dede Ayew has emphatically stated that its a difficult task to annex the AFCON trophy.
“We know its going to be a difficult task ahead of us. Its a huge tournament (2019 AFCON). But we’re ready,” Andre Dede Ayew said when the Black Stars met President Akuffo-Addo at the Jubilee House, Accra, on Thursday.
“We know what is ahead of us. We’ll prepare very hard. We know that only victory makes our people smile so we’re going to make sure that we bring victory to our country,” he ended.
The AFCON 2019 tournament will kick off on June 21.
